Welcome to the asynchronous course, [Math]odology Leadership Onboarding! This course will guide administrators and instructional leaders through the process of adopting a high-quality math curricular resource. You will learn to evaluate research-based principles and pedagogical approaches of resources like think!Mathematics and Developing Roots to determine their alignment with your school’s vision for teaching and learning mathematics. The course covers the essential stages of curriculum adoption, from developing a shared vision and establishing a collaborative team, to making an evidence-based decision and creating a comprehensive adoption and implementation plan. The plan includes developing a comprehensive professional learning program that can be customized to meet your school’s needs, focusing on building the capacity of teachers—your greatest resource—and a dedicated module for parent education to demystify mathematics for families.
Because the course is asynchronous, you can work at your own pace and revisit modules as needed, allowing for flexible and personalized professional development. By participating, you’ll gain the necessary knowledge and tools to lead the successful implementation of think!Mathematics and/or Developing Roots.
