think! Mathematics is a series of textbooks and workbooks written to meet the national standards. In tandem with adapted approaches used in Singapore to develop critical thinking, as well as problem-solving and analytical skills, students can gain a strong foundation to achieve the highest possible level of mastery of mathematics.

This series adopts a 3-part lesson structure and a spiral design within and across grade levels. The concrete-pictorial-abstract (C-P-A) approach and the infusion of fun-filled activities help develop students’ cognitive and metacognitive skills. New-trend questions and open-ended questions are included throughout the series to encourage analytical and lateral thinking.

  • How would you recommend using the journals?

    The journals in the Teacher's Guide do not come with explicit prompts. We recommend viewing these journals as an opportunity for a descriptive type of prompt. Specifically, students can be asked to describe one method they used to solve the day's Anchor Task. This approach encourages students to reflect on their problem-solving process and articulate their understanding.

    Additionally, there are several journal prompts available in other resources. You can find more prompts in the student textbook, student workbook, and the Mathodology Toolkit. These prompts often address other types of journal writing, including evaluative, creative, and investigative prompts.
